My first blog

Well, my friend Judy Wood started a blog and I thought I would follow suit although I am sure she will post much more frequently than I will. But inspired by her declaration not to spend any money on quilting things for a year, I decided to extend my own moratorium past the end of the year to next July.

So a good way to get a new-fabric fix and not spend any money is to use scraps passed on from a friend's aunt in Iowa. Lots of them are oddly shaped so I cut a diamond template to get the biggest piece possible. I'm really tickled at how they turned out. Even with all the fabric I already have, something about using these scraps is energizing.

Yeah. Lisa! Congrats on the blog! When I saw the quilt, I thought it was Kaffe fabric! But no...good old Aunt Donna!!! Beautiful.

I was obviously patterning it after the Kaffe quilt, but this one uses fast food and snacks!

Great quilt, Lisa. It's amazing what Aunt Donna's scraps can create!

Great, Lisa, on starting your own blog. I'm not good at navigating Face Book to keep track of you...LOL! Love the diamond quilt! I may have to follow suit with my bag of Aunt Donna's scraps...like I don't already have more things than I can handle! Like the upstairs bathroom remodel. Looking forward to your posts!
